Two minor girls sexually abused in Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD: Two minor girls- one 6- year-old and the other 7-year-old - were subjected to sexual abuse by an unknown man on late Friday night. According to police sources, the man attempted to rape the 6-year-old girl and molested the elder one but as the girl cried for help, he escaped.
ACP Milap Patel said they have registered an offence under section 376, 354 of IPC and sections of POCSO against the accused.“Fortunately, we have got the CCTV footage of the man, luring the girl along with him based on which we are hunting for the accused”, he added.
According to the police sources, both the girls living in Danilimda are from a family of poor financial back-ground. “On Friday night while both the girls were playing outside their house, an unknown man approached them. The man, on the pretext of getting them toys and chocolates took them along for about half a kilometre. The man then entered the toilet of the locked house. The entry of the toilet of the house is from outside” said a police source.
Police sources said the man then attempted rape on the younger one and molested the elder one. “However, when the girls started screaming for help, people from the locality started to gather around the house. Seeing that the accused ran away from the spot”, added a source from Danillimda police station.
ACP Patel added that apart from the CCTV footage, they have also activated their human intelligence network and are checking people with a similar criminal background in the area to trace the accused. “We are hopeful of nabbing the accused soon” he added.
